The following is a list of all the necessary equipment to make and lay Adobe Madre bricks.

pliers or dykes Sturdy to wire-tie reinforcement rods together
mortar bin Plastic, about 5-gallon (20L) total volume. Must be sturdy, broad, and shallow, preferably with rounded corners and handles. To hold mortar
spade Small head, short handle to shovel mortar from wheelbarrow to mortar bin
Board(s) Two 1” x 3” (75mm x 25mm) boards or a single 4” x 4” (100mm x 100mm) For each profile location
Builder’s String-Line Nylon Serves as the straight building line to which adobe bricks are laid
2 builder’s levels One 6’ (1800mm), one 2’ (600mm) builder’s level To occasionally check horizontal and vertical alignment of the adobe wall under construction
2 steel-tape measures 25 feet (or 8-meters) in length 1 for the “Bricklayer”, 1 for the “Patterner”.
Clean water supply and hoses Sturdy, gun-type spray-nozzles for each station 1 for the mixing area, equipment washing area, and two hoses that are able to spray the inside and outside of every wall on the job site
One spray nozzle Simple-type For washing the cores
Flashlight (battery torch) Any kind For peering down the cores
water drum 44-gallon Placed near the mixer to add water to mortar mixes
2 buckets 2.5-Gallon (10-liters) For adding water to the mixer
Two half drums Plastic, cut long-ways To use as a cement bin
A masonry hammer (skutch) (hammer one end/ replaceable cutting teeth other end For altering bricks
PVC pipes 2” (50mm) outside diameter cut into 18” (450mm) lengths for scaffolding system
screeding stick 32” (800mm) long, 1-3/8” x 2-3/4” (35mm x 70mm) to level the freshly packed molds
a ramp board 1meter long,150mmx25mm) For further wheelbarrow access to empty molds in the back of the row.
